To the south in Mexico, a large thunderstorm complex developed in the Sierra Madre mountains and moved westward toward the Gulf of California southeast of Hermosillo and east of Los Mochis. A thunderstorm outflow from this complex will move into Arizona Friday morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"824\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1318 \/ 824;\" width=\"1318\" autoplay controls loop muted src=\"https:\/\/discussions.weather.arizona.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Recording-2025-06-26-091024.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">GOES19 long-wave infrared from June 25th 9am to 3am this morning, College of DuPage<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The tropical system in the eastern Pacific south of Mexico continued to move westward without much development yet. Thunderstorms associated with the TUTT lows are located in the areas of the best divergence aloft to the northwest and southeast of the lows. The satellite images above shows the storms over western Mexico near Hermosillo and off the east coast of Mexico around the best divergence. The storms in the southeast U.S. and the Bahamas reflect the same pattern but for TUTT 2.\u00a0Winds over Arizona and New Mexico are generally from the southwest, but have decreased about 40 knots.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"733\" height=\"745\" src=\"https:\/\/discussions.weather.arizona.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Screenshot-2025-06-26-093751.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-437\" srcset=\"https:\/\/discussions.weather.arizona.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Screenshot-2025-06-26-093751.png 733w, https:\/\/discussions.weather.arizona.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Screenshot-2025-06-26-093751-295x300.png 295w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 733px) 100vw, 733px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>At 500mb, temperatures have risen slightly over Arizona and have dropped slightly over New Mexico. Scattered showers over the mountains in New Mexico are expected, but rain chances will decrease through to the end of the week.
